Tinytrack — Baby Tracker ("Tinytrack," "the app," "we," "us") is built so that, by default, your data never leaves your device. This page explains exactly what happens in the one case where that changes: if you choose to turn on the optional Cloud Sync feature.

The short version

  • Tinytrack works fully offline. No account or sign-in is required to use any feature.
  • All logs, milestones, symptom notes, growth entries, and medication records are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
  • We have no ads, no third-party analytics, and no advertising trackers of any kind.
  • If you never turn on Cloud Sync, we never receive any of your data.

What Cloud Sync does, if you turn it on

Cloud Sync (Settings → Cloud Sync) is entirely optional. It exists so a second caregiver can see the same child's logs and handoff notes in real time. Turning it on requires signing in with Sign in with Apple or an email and password, handled by Firebase Authentication (a Google service).

Once signed in, the following data is sent to Cloud Firestore (also a Google service) under an account tied to your unique user ID:

  • The selected child's name, birth date, and handoff note
  • Newly created feed, sleep, and diaper log entries

Milestones, symptom notes, growth entries, and medication/vaccine records are not synced — they always stay local to your device, even with Cloud Sync on.

Server-side security rules restrict every synced record so that only your own signed-in account can read or write it. No caregiver outside the people you've shared your sign-in with can access your data.

Third-party services

Cloud Sync is built on Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore), operated by Google LLC. When Cloud Sync is on, your account identifier and the data listed above are processed by Google's infrastructure under Google's Privacy Policy. We do not use any other third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Data you export yourself

Tinytrack lets you export your own data at any time: a JSON backup (Settings → Data → Back Up Data) and a PDF summary for pediatrician visits (More → Pediatrician Export). Both are generated entirely on your device and shared only through the destination you choose (e.g. Mail, Messages, Files) — we never see or receive a copy.

Children's information

Tinytrack is a tool for parents and caregivers to log information about their own children — it is not directed at children as users, and children do not interact with the app or provide information to us directly. Information about a child (name, birth date, logged entries) is entered by the parent or caregiver using the app, and is treated the same as any other data described above.

Deleting your data

You can delete any entry — a log, milestone, symptom note, medication record, or growth entry — directly in the app at any time. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data. If you've used Cloud Sync and want your synced data removed from our servers as well, email us at the address below and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
